Davos is an international city in Switzerland that hosts the World Economic Forum each year. The WEF was founded by Klaus Schwab in 1971 and focuses on improving the state of the world through public-private partnerships.

The World Economic Forum is a not-for-profit foundation formally established in 1971. It organizes the annual meeting of the world’s political and business leaders in Davos, Switzerland, and brings together 3,000 participants from about 130 countries around the world.

- Companies Not Attending: The list of companies not attending the event this year is noticeably longer than usual. It includes Uber, Samsung, Cisco, IBM, Intel and HP. All six have announced that they are either working on projects or have already built autonomous vehicles that could be used at a later date.
It’s very likely that these companies have decided not to attend because they believe the event is no longer relevant. They may also be wary of their competitors being there and stealing their ideas.
Politicans Attending
The World Economic Forum is a big event. It’s in Davos, Switzerland and it’s where all the world’s most important people get together to talk about important things like how they can improve the world economy.
Politicians from every country will be attending, including those with good human rights records (like Israel) and those with bad ones (like Russia). This means that when you meet one of these people, you’ll have a good chance of getting their autograph! But do be careful: not all politicians are kind or generous to fans.

The WEF was established in 1971 by Klaus Schwab, who wanted to take advantage of the growing international interest in economic issues following World War II. The WEF hosts its annual meetings at different venues around the world, including Davos, Switzerland; Caux, Switzerland; Dalian, China; Bled Slovenia; and Tianjin China.
The WEF describes itself as “a unique global community committed to improving the state of the world”. Its mission statement says it aims through “innovative thinking” and collaboration with leading thinkers from all over the world to improve systems such as education or health care.
The World Economic Forum is a unique place where leaders from all sectors come together to discuss the most pressing issues of our time.
